As you guessed, these are scams that are sent to your mobile phone. They all have a few things in common.
1) They are offering you a refund : No company is going to offer your a refund if you don’t have one coming. The scammer will often pretend to be from a well know company. This is to help gain your trust.
2) Car loan : I get these often. They will often state that you submitted an application for for financing and they are able to approve it....yay...now imagine the personal information they can harvest from you.
3) Update info: You need to update your details to avoid cancellation, press “Y” to continue. Then they add the name of a well known company. You guest it, they want your login info.
4) Can’t deliver package : The scammer claims to be from a well known company or post office and for some reason they can’t deliver your package. For some reason, they never had a problem before and haven’t had a problem since. They will want to get as much personal information as possible.
5) You owe a government agency money.
Never click on any links, or return messages that show these or other red flags.
